Concepcion!
I can't believe we are just about to finish my first transfer here in Concepciòn! The last 5 weeks have been flying by. My comp, Elder Avery, is a total stud and has become one of my best friends over the time that we have had together. He has taught my a ton and we have been able to see lots of blessings this past month or so.
This week was different than any other of my entire mission. I don't know what happened but just kinda seemed like everyone wanted to fight about the gospel with us. People saying things about Joseph Smith, about temples, and really just everything they could make up to fight with the missionaries. Talking with my comp we were trying to figure out what to do with all of these people, if we should fight back, or just take it. I thought back to the examples of the scriptures, and how they never got contentious but also never turned down an opportunity to testify of what they believed in. We decided to just share our testimonies with these people, and tell them we love them. Let me tell you, its quite the experience telling someone yelling at you, telling you that you are wasting your time, and that you've been brainwashed that you know Joseph Smith is a prophet of God, that as we repent we accept the power of God into our lives and more importantly that you love them. I saw the spirit work in these people. Almost none of them accepted our message but I can say that every single one stepped back and realized what they are doing and what we are doing. It was a solid week!
Love yall!
Elder Henderson
