I'm Melting!!

Como andan todos?? We are doing great here in Jujuy! This week was really hot lol, everywhere we went people looked at us like we were crazy walking around in a shirt and tie in 100+ degree weather. Last week here was Mother's day so this week we had a huge ward activity were they made 60+ pounds of meat. It was the best Asada I've ever had hahah. This week we were able to have lots of success and see a lot of progress in the people we are teaching! One cool story that happened this week is that we were walking around talking with people but we felt like we were not in the right place. We went walking to where we felt we needed to go. We were a little confused and had no idea where to go and then we clapped our hands at a house, and a lady came out and let us right in! We were a little surprised but super excited. It turns out the lady is a member and is even sealed to her family! She moved to Jujuy from Buenos Aires a long time ago and lost contact with the church. The fi...

The Book of Mormon!

This week was so good, im loving my new area.  This last month we have been doing an initiative of the Book of Mormon, and trying to share it with everyone! One thing my comp and I have been doing is carrying a Book of Mormon in our hands then asking "If Jesus Christ was here in front of you right now, what would you ask him?" We have had some pretty awesome experiences, trying to follow the spirit to say what these people need to hear in that exact moment and be able to answer their questions with the Book of Mormon. I know without a shadow of a doubt that this book is true!  This week I was thinking back on conference and thinking a lot about the talk Elder Gong gave called Covenant Belonging. One part really stuck out to me that says "God’s ordinances and covenants are universal in their requirement and individual in their opportunity." Covenants are not just a checklist of things that we need to complete to get to the Celestial kingdom, they are opportunitie...

General Conference weekend in Juyjuy!

This week was the biggest holiday that we have as missionaries, General Conference!! its always great to hear the inspiring words of the leaders of the church. I know Russell M Nelson is a prophet of God and that Jesus Christ leads us through him. This conference inspired me, as I'm sure it did many of you. We heard messages of hope, happiness, and were promised many great blessings for keeping the commandments!  We learned so much and it's impossible to pick favorite talks but a couple of the themes that I was able to see were holiness, happiness and the role those play in the plan of salvation. We were promised that as we seek to increase our holiness, we will increase our happiness, no matter the situation. One of my favorite quotes by Elder Uchtdorf was, "God loves you no less when you struggle, then when you triumph." No matter how many times we fall, as long as we are moving forward on the covenant path, we will have joy. We are all here on this earth on the...

Transfers and miracles!

This week was NUTS. Started off normal, we have been teaching a lady named Tina and she's been progressing well. She had done everything to prepare for baptism but was still scared of the commitment. When we asked her on Tuesday if she wanted to be baptized this Saturday, she told us no. We were pretty bummed but kept working with her. On Friday morning we had a visit with her and at the end of the lesson as we were leaving, she just said: "I want to be baptized tomorrow!" We were shocked but also super excited! Friday and Saturday consisted of running around all of our areas prepping the baptism. On Saturday she was so nervous for her baptism and as we were in the font she just kept saying "I'm scared, I'm scared" I was able to see the incredible change of baptism right before my eyes. She went from being terrified to feeling the love of God to the point of tears all in about 30 seconds. It was such a humbling moment to be a part of, I love the mission...
